Pairs & Pints
Test your memory in this bizarre game of matching. Battle two dealer -- Fred or Ignatius, and try to match all their cards.
Controls: Click around with the mouse.

Pairs & Pints features battles against Dealers. The battle starts off with 2 pairs of cards, hidden to the player, only shown for a brief moment. Once you match all the pairs, you're given a choice of upgrades. The cards are dealt again, expanding the board and match options. This continues until you either run out of time, or Dealer is dead. You have 3 tries to beat all the Dealers.
There are four base card types:
1) Coin -- adds to your coin collection; your combo count adds to the amount.
2) Time -- adds a few seconds to your clock.
3) Damage -- does 2 damage to Fred; your combo count is added to the damage.
4) Combo -- adds 5 to your combo count.
After a battle there are round results. The results earn you money. You can buy special cards that have a chance to be dealt. They match with one of the four base types, but also do another effect, and increase your odds of finding a match of that type. This needs balancing, and perhaps another feature
Each successful pair adds one point to your combo count.
Each mismatch removes all your combo count, unless otherwise buffed.
The key to beating the dealers is to keep your combo count high, and buy cards!
There are 11 upgrades.
1) Adds a coin each mismatch.
2) Reveal another pair on a successful match.
3) Block the next mismatch from removing your combo count.
4) Reveal a hidden card on a mismatch.
5) Earning coins does damage
6) Max your combo at 10, but you cannot lose the combo
7) Combo bonus is added to Time Matches
8) First attack after a deal does double damage
9) Earn coin on a Match
10) If less than 20 seconds left, there is a Chance to reveal a card ever second
11) Match a pair after the deal
You can buy cards to inject into the dealer's hand. They are a combination of each card, for example:
Coin base + attack, coin base + time, coin base + combo
They match with any coin base. This is a little Over Powered. So I will add a feature to choose one card to inject each deal

This is a game created for Godot Wild Jam # 90. It's a week long jam. The theme was Journey, with wild card subcategories of Cartography, Hidden in Plain Sight, and Bullet Time.
The basic game idea was to journey around a fantasy land, getting to know colorful people -- as they say, the it's not the destination, but the friends you make along the way. However, I really went with the Hidden in Plain Sight theme, by having match-the-hidden-cards as the main gameplay mechanic, and didn't have the time to put in more than one character, so there isn't much Journey; haha! I had many more plans for upgrades, but didn't have the time to implement them either. Also I was hoping for a 'meta shop', where you could buy permanent passive upgrades to help you along your journey.
Pontax was a pleasure to work with. He's fast and communicates well!
